Melbourne's most majestic live music and function venue

You could be forgiven for walking past The Thornbury Theatre concealed amidst the hustle and bustle of High Street. But take a step through the main entrance and be surprised and delighted by a majestic space embracing old world charm.

Built in 1925, The Thornbury Theatre was an established picture theatre in the 1920’s and in 1965 was transformed to offer to very distinct function rooms which now caters for unique weddings, special occasions, corporate events, live music and theatrical performances.

Website Design & Development

The Thornbury Theatre rebrand project included the design and development of a new website. The website showcases upcoming events, provides information about the venue’s history and facilities, and offers contact details for enquiries. The design emphasises a modern aesthetic to enhance the online presence of The Thornbury Theatre. We aimed to reflect the theatre’s commitment to providing a premier entertainment experience in Melbourne.

Branding & Identity

Melbourne’s Thornbury Theatre engaged us to do a complete rebrand for their venue. The concept for the new brand and identity was influenced by interior and exterior motifs found throughout the building, as a way to pay homage to its heritage and create something that bridges the old and new. This redesign has been carried over to all collateral, including digital, print and OOH.

Graphic Design & Animation

For The Thornbury Theatre rebrand project, we delivered graphic design that captured the venue’s distinct character by building on its new brand and identity. We incorporated decorative patterns, architectural elements, and vintage aesthetics into the design with the music photography. This thoughtful blend of historical influences and modern design created a unified visual identity that honours the theatre’s rich heritage while giving it a fresh, contemporary appeal.
