When we started Unknown Group, the world had just been turned upside down by COVID.

My co-founder and I had both been pushed out of our jobs, and all around us, local businesses were struggling to survive. We knew we had the skills to help, so we started doing exactly that: getting important messages out, communicating changing restrictions, sharing new strategies, and helping business owners stay afloat however we could.

Word spread quickly. Recommendations turned into inquiries, inquiries turned into clients, and Unknown Group was born. From day one, our values were shaped by those early days in the trenches: we don’t tell people how to run their business. We work alongside them to figure it out together.

We launched an agency during one of the hardest times to start anything, and we made it our mission to keep every one of our clients open. The relationships we built during that period are still with us today, because bonds built in tough times last forever.

We’re in another incredibly challenging period for businesses.

Budgets are tight. Many can’t afford ongoing marketing support, even though marketing is more important than ever. And we refuse to sit back and watch good businesses shut their doors.

That’s why we’re doing something different.

Gone are the days of asking, “Why would we teach someone to do what we do?”

The real question is: If we can give you the tools to do it yourself and that means you can afford to market… why wouldn’t we?

We’re launching training designed to empower business owners to take control of their own marketing: properly, confidently, and without guesswork.

We’re so confident in its value that if you complete the course and the ongoing training and still don’t feel able to run your own marketing, we’ll give you your money back.

These workshops will be small and intimate, run out of our head office in Wollongong, with ongoing support included after the session.

Are we charging for this?

Of course: we’re a business too.

But it’s a one-off payment. No ongoing fees. No retainers. No contracts.

We’ll always be here if you need assistance, but the goal is to level you up so you can confidently handle your marketing without us. If you choose to work with us again later, great. And if not, that’s completely fine too.
